Such Ka Saamna, an Indian version of Moment of Truth of Star World raised a hue and cry in recent Parliament sessions, the questions asked in the program have been entirely personal and could be devastating the family relations. The questions aim the relationships between the family members, and are a concern in a country like India, where the society still holds a strong family system. Not just with Such Ka Samna but most of the reality shows being telecasted these days need a inspection of vulgarity and nudity.
The committee to moniter the media as suggested by Parliament looks a necessity to rate the programs telecasted and warn the parents regarding the programs having adult content. It is absolutely necessary in the manner that movies are sensored, TV programs also need a sensor cut that controls the obscenity and vulgarity of the programs telecasted. TV shows of the day are the biggest distraction for the younger generation of the day. The citizens tomorrow shall only be responsible and respectable if they are groomed properly today.
The decision of committee to be laid to moniter media looks to have caused a great turmoil in media as evident by the way they have been collecting opinions in metros regarding the same, the levels of frustration seem to be so high that one of the popular journalist took every opportunity to bash the Legislators and Parliamentarians in his blog. He has even advised them to work for the benefit of society rather than discussing such issues. Never did I understand what he meant by society. I shall take this opportunity to challenge the journo and media who have been collecting the opinions of people in metros, concerning this issue, let there be a referendum across the country and then you will know the true pulse of India. Its not just the people living in metros that count for Indian population. Look out of the window, there is a lot more unseen world.
I pity the understanding of people in Indian metros who take the opposition of government, and question the rights of government for the content being telecasted in media. I shall ask if it is okay to telecast a porn movie in a entertainment channel, of course this spoils no body's life, and also is being watched by people on their wish, also being acted in by people on their wish? Will this be acceptable to the so called broadminded people of metros. If a reality show with semi vulgarity and nudity is accepted then why not a porn movies. Logically I see no difference. Its the time media wakes up and learns to be responsible speaking sensibly, keeping in mind of Indian masses.
